Canutillo ISD Celebrates 100th Day of Instruction

Canutillo ISD Celebrates 100th Day of Instruction

Students in the Canutillo Independent School District today are 100 days smarter and well on their way to reaching their academic goals.

The District celebrated the 100th day of learning on Tuesday with fun dress-ups, inventive lesson plans and – of course – tons and tons of learning.

“Every day that we learn is a day to celebrate. But when you’ve been learning for 100 days, that’s a good reason to throw a party,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz. “I want to congratulate the students for reaching this milestone and thank the teachers for providing some of the best instruction I’ve had the privilege of witnessing.”

As it has become tradition, most schools celebrated the 100th day of learning by asking students to dress as centenarians – senior citizens who are 100 years old. Old grandmas and grandpas lookalikes walked around CISD campuses using canes and even walkers.

Other schools asked students to make t-shirts that contained 100 items on them – a nice math lesson for young kindergarteners.

With 80 more instructional days on the calendar, there’s no stopping CISD students and teachers!
