Canutillo ISD earns superior score for financial integrity & transparency

Canutillo Independent School District has once again earned a remarkable distinction for its commitment to financial integrity and transparency. The district achieved a Superior Rating of 94 for the 2024 academic year, under the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). 

FIRST, a system implemented by the Texas Education Agency, evaluates school districts across several critical financial indicators, ensuring they are using public funds efficiently and responsibly. 

“This achievement reinforces the Canutillo ISD’s reputation as a district that prioritizes both academic excellence and sound financial management, ensuring taxpayer funds are used to maximize student outcomes while maintaining transparency with the community,” said CISD Executive Director of Finance Cristina Pulley. 

The superior rating is the highest possible under the FIRST system, signaling that Canutillo ISD has effectively managed its financial resources, meeting stringent state guidelines.
