Canutillo ISD students warm up for the holidays through ninth annual Coats for Kids collaboration

Canutillo ISD students warm up for the holidays through ninth annual Coats for Kids collaboration

The spirit of the season is warming more than hearts across Canutillo ISD thanks to the ninth annual Coats for Kids community collaboration, an effort that continues to grow in generosity and impact each year.

Through a longstanding partnership between the Knights of Columbus Council 12160, Canutillo ISD, Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso and additional community partners, students from campuses across the District received brand-new coats, gifts and festive treats just in time for the colder months.

“This collaboration is a beautiful reminder of what happens when our community comes together for children,” said Dr. Monica Reyes, Executive Director of Student Support Services. “It’s more than providing coats, it’s creating joyful experiences that make our students feel valued and supported.”

This year’s celebration offered more than warmth, it delivered pure wonder. Dozens of CISD elementary students were welcomed to Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso for a day filled with games, jumping balloons, crafts and food.

The highlight was the much anticipated arrival of Santa Claus. Cheers and excitement filled the air as students rushed to greet him, making the moment an unforgettable kickoff to the holiday season.

The Knights of Columbus volunteers worked side-by-side with District staff and community partners to make sure every child went home with a new toy, winter essentials and a coat to help them stay warm throughout the winter. Their continued commitment to the children of Canutillo ISD has made Coats for Kids a beloved annual tradition.

Nine years in, Coats for Kids remains a powerful example of what Canutillo is all about community, compassion and coming together to uplift every child and reminding them that in Canutillo ISD, they are seen and supported.
