CISD Board Seeking Candidates for Interim Superintendent

The Canutillo Independent School District Board of Trustees announced Tuesday it is seeking names of candidates interested in serving as interim superintendent of schools following the retirement of Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz on July 31.
Trustees will discuss the interim superintendent selection process during its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 27, and may select candidates to consider and interview.
Qualified candidates should have prior school administration experience. Deadline to submit is 5 p.m. on Monday, May 26.
The interim superintendent will begin duties on Aug. 1 and serve in that role until a permanent superintendent is selected and officially onboarded. The interim leader will work closely with the Board of Trustees to provide effective governance for a district that serves approximately 5,800 students, 10 campuses, and employs around 900 staff members. The selected candidate will also be responsible for managing a $67 million annual budget and addressing an anticipated financial deficit during the transition period.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their resume directly to any member of the Canutillo ISD Board of Trustees. Trustees should be contacted via the emails posted for them on the CISD website at www.canutillo-isd.org.
